Job summary

Tiny Health is building AI systems behind our consumer and clinician-facing products. This hands-on role focuses on taking AI features from idea to production with a strong emphasis on grounding outputs in customer data and verified science.

You will collaborate with founders, product, design, and science teams to ship dependable AI-driven features and scalable data pipelines as usage grows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building and shipping software with ML/LLM features in production
• Solid ML fundamentals and ability to reason about model behavior
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (embeddings, chunking, retrieval quality)
• Strong backend fundamentals, experience in TypeScript or Python
• Ability to debug non-deterministic systems and trace outputs to retrieval/prompting/post-processing
• Experience with AWS and serverless architectures
• Strong API development and system design skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced remote startup environment

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production AI systems and APIs for our products
• Own AI features end to end from prototyping to deployment and monitoring
• Improve retrieval and grounding to keep answers accurate and sources traceable
• Develop evaluation tooling to measure AI quality over time
• Ensure performance and observability of AI components in production
• Collaborate with science and clinical teams to translate microbiome science into product experiences
• Partner with product, design, and engineering to ship high-impact AI features
• Design data pipelines and inference infrastructure that scale with growth
