Job summary

Humana is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer 2 to design, build, deploy and maintain internal AI-powered tools that reduce toil and improve incident response. You will work with Python, Angular, SQL and Databricks in a cross-functional team to deliver reliable, scalable automation for support and operations.

This remote role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, SDLC experience, and collaboration with architects and stakeholders to translate pain points into practical features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/ENG/IT
• 3+ years of software development, automation engineering, or SRE related roles
• 3+ years developing with Python and SQL
• Experience building, enhancing, and supporting web-based apps, APIs, automation tools, or enterprise software
• 1+ years with Angular or similar front-end frameworks
• Experience with Databricks, SSIS, or comparable data tools
• Knowledge of SDLC, deployment, version control, and production support
• Ability to work in Agile teams and communicate with stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy internal products and automations that reduce manual operational effort and improve support team productivity
• Build AI-enabled solutions to help support engineers with troubleshooting, knowledge retrieval, and incident response
• Develop and maintain applications and services using Python, Angular, SQL, Databricks, SSIS
• Integrate applications with enterprise AI gateways for secure and scalable AI capabilities
• Participate in model evaluation, basic tuning, and aligning AI with product requirements
• Translate operational pain points into practical product features and technical solutions
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and leads to deliver stories in an Agile environment
• Support deployment, monitoring, reliability, and continuous improvement of products in production
• Contribute to coding standards, testing practices, documentation, and operational readiness
• Identify opportunities for automation, self-service, and intelligent tooling across workflows
• Follow enterprise architecture, security, and software development standards
