Job summary

Block, Inc. is seeking a Senior Legal Systems Engineer to design and evolve scalable legal tech platforms. You will blend software engineering, system architecture, and legal domain expertise to enable AI-powered workflows across ELM, eDiscovery, CLM, and AI platforms.

You will lead integrations, APIs, and data pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions while balancing innovation with risk in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

7–10+ years in software/systems engineering or architecture roles.
Experience integrating SaaS platforms and APIs.
Strong autonomous work in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve the architecture of legal systems, scalable and cohesive over time.
Identify opportunities to improve legal workflows through automation, integration, and AI.
Lead the design and implementation of AI-enabled solutions (Claude, Harvey, internal LLMs).
Translate experiments into scalable, production-ready implementations with guardrails for safe AI use.
Build and oversee integrations across DocuSign CLM, Brightflag, Tonkean, and AODocs.
