Job summary

VIA is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to turn raw, complex data into clear narratives powering VIA's data products. You’ll work in a fast, Agile environment with software engineers, data peers, and client delivery professionals to drive data initiatives end to end with precision and security.

You will translate domain knowledge into data infrastructure requirements, build AI-enabled insights, and own ETL/ELT pipelines while ensuring data quality and reliability across client projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a data-driven role or equivalent data-related research projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, mathematics, engineering, or a data-driven field.
• Proficiency in Python or R.
• Experience with two or more of the listed technologies (SQL/PostgreSQL, NumPy/pandas, Dagster/Airflow/dbt, AWS/Azure).
• Ability to translate complex data findings into clear narratives.
• Strong communication and collaboration capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Understand the data and domain by translating client needs into data infrastructure requirements.
• Build AI-powered data products, including analytics platforms, quality reports, and visualizations.
• Oversee ETL/ELT pipelines and coordinate with stakeholders on data quality and discrepancies.
• Improve the data platform by identifying automation opportunities and AI enhancements.
