Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Backend Integration Engineer to join the AI Transformation team. You will design and maintain APIs to connect enterprise systems with AI agents, focusing on secure, auditable MCP access and reusable integrations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/IS or equivalent practical experience.
2–4 years of backend or systems integration experience.
Experience with enterprise platform APIs (ServiceNow, Okta, ERP, Microsoft 365).
Strong API and backend fundamentals with enthusiasm for AI-driven automation.
Security-focused development including OAuth/OIDC, auditing, and least privilege.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain RESTful and event-driven APIs for enterprise systems.
Develop MCP server implementations for secure AI agent access to tools and data.
Build integrations with ServiceNow, Okta, and ERP/financial systems.
Implement security controls: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, API gateway policies, logging.
Collaborate with AI Engineers to define MCP tool specs and governance.
Maintain comprehensive API documentation and an integration catalog.
Monitor integration health, SLA adherence, and enable graceful degradation.
Support data classification and regulatory compliance in integrations.
