Job summary

Emergent Staffing is helping a client fill an AI Director role, fully remote in the United States. You will lead architecture, roadmaps, and delivery of customer-facing AI capabilities across a SaaS portfolio, guiding an expanding AI team and hands-on development.

The role emphasizes strategic AI direction, prototyping, and collaboration with engineering leadership to drive AI-driven product innovation and governance across platforms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering with architecture leadership.
• Proven experience delivering production AI, ML, RAG, or agentic systems.
• Strong understanding of modern AI architectures, memory, context management, and evaluation frameworks.
• Hands-on software development involvement in AI initiatives.
• Experience shaping AI roadmaps and technical strategy across SaaS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define AI strategy and architecture for multiple product lines.
• Lead the design of scalable agentic workflows and personalization features.
• Guide integration of AI across .NET, Node, Go, and Java platforms.
• Mentor and grow the AI team, including contractors.
• Participate in due diligence for AI capabilities and acquisitions.
