Job summary

Alignerr is seeking software engineers to build, evaluate, and improve AI-generated code from a remote, flexible contract in Phoenix-area time zones. You will write solutions, review AI outputs, and provide expert feedback to improve safety, reliability, and understanding of code as AI systems are trained.

You will work across languages, explain technical decisions clearly, and operate independently with a 10–40 hour/week commitment. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Proficient in one or more programming languages including Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, Go, or TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Ability to read, write, and reason about code with clarity and precision.

Responsibilities

• Write, debug, and optimize code across languages, frameworks, and domains.
• Review and evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, efficiency, readability, and best practices.
• Identify bugs, logic errors, security issues, and performance bottlenecks in AI outputs.
• Provide structured, detailed feedback explaining why code works or doesn't.
• Design challenging coding prompts and edge-case scenarios to stress-test AI capabilities.
• Compare and rank multiple AI-generated solutions based on engineering quality.
• Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule.
