Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer to solve complex AI/ML infrastructure challenges in a fast-growing AI/ML space. You will be the technical tip of the spear for strategic ANE customers, embedded with their teams to drive production-grade AI adoption.

You will build tools, migration scripts, and AI starter kits that scale across the DigitalOcean AI Cloud ecosystem, accelerating time-to-inference in production and feeding the product roadmap with field learnings.

Qualifications

• Experience hosting large language or multimodal models in production.
• Deep understanding of LLM architectures and optimization techniques.
• Expertise in Kubernetes and distributed systems.
• Production coding skills in Python or Go.
• Experience with AI frameworks such as vLLM, SGLang, or Modular is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Embedded customer engineering with strategic ANEs for migrations and PoCs.
• Build migration planners, reusable systems, benchmarking frameworks, and deployment scripts.
• Develop AI starter kits and notebooks tailored to business needs.
• Contribute to the product roadmap by surfacing gaps from field work.
• Lead testing and integration of emerging AI frameworks for developer experience.
• Co-develop delivery frameworks with partners to enable scalable deployments.
• Create field-ready demo kits and deployment guides for product releases.
