Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and optimize server-side systems and APIs powering AI products. You’ll work on data pipelines and model-serving infrastructure, plus scalable microservices that handle real-world traffic, all in a remote hourly contract.

You’ll collaborate with researchers and product leads across time zones, delivering clean, well-documented code and robust architectures that scale with demand.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building back-end services and APIs.
• Strong understanding of RESTful design and microservices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust back-end services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Build scalable server-side architecture for AI training and inference workloads.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following best practices.
• Integrate with databases, queues, cloud services, and third-party APIs.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability as usage grows.
• Collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams of engineers and researchers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Work independently on task-based and project-based assignments.
