Job summary

Applied Systems is seeking an Associate AI Automation Engineer to join the IT AI Automation team in a remote role. You’ll help build and harden micro-apps and AI integrations on a shared GCP platform, delivering quality solutions with authentication, CI/CD, secrets management, and monitoring.

You’ll gain practical experience with Python, SQL, and GCP, apply secure development practices, and collaborate with a diverse team to ship production-ready features and improve customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Foundational knowledge of software engineering principles, testing and data structures.
• Basic proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Familiar with cloud technologies (GCP preferred) and software security practices.
• CI/CD, automated testing concepts, Agile, Jira, and Confluence.
• Effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the build of micro-apps and AI integrations with guidance from senior engineers.
• Complete bug fixes, small features, and tests to support technical delivery.
• Participate in code and design reviews to align with team standards.
• Apply software development and security practices including auth, access controls, and secrets management.
• Monitor applications, follow runbooks, and escalate anomalies as needed.
• Develop with Python, SQL, and GCP while learning to use AI tools responsibly.
• Use AI to assist analysis, development, testing, and documentation.
