Job summary

City of Hope is seeking an AI Automation Engineer to design and deploy automation across clinical, research, and business workflows. The role emphasizes secure handling of PHI/PII, integration with EHRs, and collaboration with data science teams.

The candidate will work on AI-first reinventions, support production automations, and contribute to standards and knowledge sharing. Fully remote within the United States, with a focus on scalable healthcare automation.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in process automation, software engineering, data science or related roles.
Knowledge of Microsoft Ecosystem, especially AI and Automation Platforms.
Experience with AI development tools and building custom agents.
Programming experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, C++, or similar).
Data integration and API standards (REST, authentication, secret/key vault management).
Cloud experience (Azure preferred) and DevOps practices.
Experience with enterprise governance processes.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy automation solutions across workflows.
Integrate automation with EHRs, clinical systems, data platforms while ensuring PHI/PII security.
Collaborate with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to integrate AI into workflows.
Monitor and optimize production automations; troubleshoot issues.
Contribute to automation standards, documentation, and reusable components.
