Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking an Architecture leader to shape AI-native operations and enterprise workflows. The role spans software, AI, and business platforms, delivering scalable agentic systems across finance, HR, sales, and IT. You will define standards, prototypes, and governance while collaborating with teams in the US and India.

The incumbent will own architecture end-to-end, build durable interfaces, and drive cost-aware design. Hybrid work in a fast-moving environment is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as a software, solution, or enterprise architect.
• Hands-on AI engineering with production LLM/agentic systems.
• Experience with cloud-native infra and Kubernetes.
• Experience integrating Workday, Salesforce, NetSuite, Greenhouse, ServiceNow, or similar.
• API and event-driven design for orchestration and integration.
• Security, identity, audit, and governance for autonomous agents.
• Ability to translate business problems into AI-enabled workflows.
• Hybrid work collaboration across time zones including US and India.
• Strong communication and mentoring across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the AI reference architecture and define patterns and standards.
• Design, prototype, and code core, ambiguous components and publish references.
• Architect the internal AI platform including model access, routing, and observability.
• Define tool and capability layer with Model Context Protocol.
• Integrate agents with enterprise systems and maintain proper authorization.
• Re-architect business processes to be AI-native with business leaders.
• Set governance and safety standards with audit trails.
• Own unit economics and cost-per-task modeling.
• Write RFCs/ADRs and ensure durable interfaces.
• Mentor engineers across the US and India and collaborate across teams.
