Job summary

Bridge to Enter Advanced Mathematics (BEAM) is launching a pilot after-school math program for 4th graders in NYC, and we’re seeking educators who genuinely enjoy a good logic puzzle. You will lead weekly sessions, observe how students grapple with the material, and help refine activities with our team.

We will assign schools in NYC or LA; you will monitor engagement, track progress, and contribute to curriculum development in a collaborative, equity-focused environment. Pay is $40/hour.

Qualifications

• Two years of math teaching, with 3rd–7th grade students preferred.
• Commitment to equity and student-centered teaching; productive struggle and inquiry are central.
• Growth mindset with openness to feedback and improvement.
• Strong communication and collaboration with students and colleagues.
• Passion for logic puzzles and problem solving.
• Solid understanding of math concepts up to Algebra 1.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Run after-school clubs at 2–3 schools in NYC or LA, 90 minutes weekly, year-long program.
• Monitor attendance and student progress; write evaluations and administer surveys.
• Contribute to curriculum development and test activities for the pilot program.
• Attend monthly pedagogy-focused training.
