Job summary

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is seeking an RN for after-hours triage and nursing support via the Answer Line. The role involves assessing patient needs, guiding care plans, and educating families within established guidelines.

Part-time shifts include evenings and weekends, with most staff working remotely and some on-site options available at the St. Louis campus. The role emphasizes pediatric care, safety, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree and RN license.
• 2-5 years nursing experience in ED, NICU, PICU, telephone triage, pediatric primary care, or pediatric general medicine.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree and pediatric nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Educates patients and families on illness management, home care needs and medication administration.
• Promotes patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; participates in professional development.
• Develops and documents care plans with goals in collaboration with the team and families.
• Assesses patient needs, preferences and barriers to engagement in care.
