Job summary

The City of St. Charles School District is seeking a full-time MOLearns AEL Instructor to help adults earn their High School Equivalency through distance and virtual education.

The position requires a work-from-home office with reliable high-speed internet; a laptop is provided; office furniture and internet service are not. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Ability to become certified by the State of Missouri to teach Adult Education & Literacy.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Teaching experience, preferably in adult education and/or distance learning.

Responsibilities

• Create an engaging, supportive rapport with students through email, phone, video conference, and distance learning platforms.
• Develop individualized learning plans based on student assessments, goals, and progress to ensure each learner receives targeted support.
• Monitor, document, and evaluate student progress using required assessments and instructional tools, adjusting instruction as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and reports including attendance, student data, and instructional documentation as required by the program and the Missouri DESE.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by program leadership to support the mission and compliance of the Missouri AEL program.
