Job summary

St. Charles Community College is looking for a part-time Project-Based AEL Instructor to instruct adult learners in math, language, and other subjects. Candidates should have strong math skills and confidence in teaching reading/language arts, and employability skills.

This role involves preparing class materials, planning instructional activities based on student needs, and working cooperatively with agencies to facilitate post-secondary transitions. A Bachelor's degree and Adult Education certification are required.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• Adult Education and Literacy certification required, which can be provided by SCC.
• Previous adult education/literacy experience is preferred.
• Previous ESL teaching experience is also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct adult learners in reading, writing, and math.
• Cooperate with other agencies for student transitions to further education.
• Plan and conduct group instructional activities on time.
• Prepare materials and homework for students.
• Adapt instructional activities based on individual needs.
