Job summary

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Field Engineer with hands-on AEGIS system experience to support the AEGIS Program. The role interfaces with Raytheon, the U.S.

Navy, other defense contractors, and government stakeholders, performing installation, integration, testing, operation, maintenance, and modification of SPY-1 Radar Transmitter and MK 99 FCS. The position is primarily remote but requires extensive travel to Navy installations and Raytheon facilities, with home base away from residence

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years’ experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required before start date; U.S. citizenship required.
• Formal training in Basic Electronics & Electricity, including RF, digital and analog principles.
• Minimum six years of experience with the AEGIS Weapon System.
• Completion of Aegis “C” School for SPY-1 Transmitter or FCS Transmitters.
• Experience interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience with electronics, radar systems, tools, test equipment, and cooling systems; able to diagnose and repair.

Responsibilities

• Travel to Naval shipyards CONUS/OCONUS to support ORDALT installations and technical efforts.
• Provide at-sea support aboard U.S. Navy ships for AEGIS systems.
• Operate, maintain, align, troubleshoot, and repair SPY-1 Transmitter Equipment and MK99 FCS aboard Navy vessels.
• Plan and execute shipboard equipment installations.
• Analyze failures and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct radar system modifications and wiring changes.
