Job summary

Apollo Behavioral Health Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking an Admissions Coordinator (Intake) to support timely outpatient admissions by coordinating referral intake, documentation, and payer readiness. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.

Responsibilities include managing intake calls, reviewing referrals, coordinating with physicians and nursing leadership, and verifying insurance to admit patients; a metrics-driven role supporting QAPI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years psychiatric admissions experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Organized, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong documentation accuracy and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage intake calls/referrals, complete inquiry documentation, and maintain intake logs.
• Review referral packets against criteria and escalate questions appropriately.
• Coordinate admission communication with physicians and the Director of Nursing.
• Prepare new patient charts, face sheets, episodes of care, and insurance details.
• Complete insurance verification once the physician accepts the patient.
• Contribute intake metrics for QAPI reporting.
