Job summary

William & Mary is seeking adjunct instructors for the online counseling program for Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027. This is a fully online, remote role limited to openings based on funding. Position requires a terminal degree in counselor education or equivalent, with preference for online teaching experience.

• Online university teaching experience preferred.
• Familiarity with counseling program curricula.

Responsibilities

• Maintain frequent and open communication with William & Mary faculty and staff via email, mail, telephone, or other media.
• Review course content, activities, and assignments before term start.
• Meet all designated course instruction guidelines.
• Provide students with timely and specific feedback.
• Grade assignments and exams promptly according to rubrics.
• Respond to student inquiries within 1–2 business days.
• Monitor discussion boards and participate as applicable.
• Hold weekly virtual office hours for individual or group consultation.
• Submit final grades following William & Mary policies and Online Programs calendar.
• Submit end-of-semester feedback and reflection forms.
• Indicate in your cover letter the program(s) of interest and your qualifications to teach in the program.
