Job summary

Unity Environmental University Distance Education is seeking enthusiastic adjunct instructors to teach online courses for our baccalaureate programs. Courses run five weeks in eight terms and are delivered asynchronously to about 20 students per course.

Candidates should hold a terminal degree (PhD) or a master's with substantial professional experience in environmental studies or related fields, plus experience teaching adults online and using Canvas or similar LMS. U.S. residency is required.

Qualifications

Terminal degree (PhD) in environmental studies, environmental justice, philosophy/ethics, environmental law, policy, or related field; or a master's with ample professional experience in the area.
Experience addressing environmental justice, environmental equity, or advocacy in community, organizational, policy, or educational settings.
Ability to operate a personal computer and basic software (Outlook, Word, Excel); strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

Teach five-week undergraduate courses in Environmental Justice or related topics, online and asynchronously.
Provide timely feedback, engage in Discussion Board tasks, and respond to students.
Support students in a remote learning environment while meeting course deadlines.
