Job summary

Milliman, Inc. is seeking Actuarial Interns for Summer 2027 in the San Francisco area. You will gain exposure to actuarial functions, including product development, pricing, and reserving, over a 10–12 week period with mentorship and feedback from experienced actuaries.

The internship emphasizes applying data analysis, modeling, and regulatory filing support while building skills in SAS, Python, and R. Remote-friendly, with collaboration across a national team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative field, with at least one semester of school remaining.
• At least one actuarial exam passed at the time of application.
• Experience conducting data analysis using MS Excel
• Experience using MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
• Some exposure to SQL, R, and/or Python

Responsibilities

• Using Excel for preparation of data analysis, checking data for accuracy and consistency (peer review), drafting reports, and maintaining documentation
• Predictive modeling using GLM’s and non-linear methods using mostly SAS, Python and R, to support rate analyses
• Draft written reports and exhibits, and prepare other internal/external correspondence
• Prepare and submit state regulatory filing support documents
• Undertake research projects of varying shape and size
