Job summary

Johns Hopkins Health Plans is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join our analytics team. This role analyzes healthcare data, builds actuarial models, and supports financial projections across lines of business.

A strong programming background and comfort with data visualization are preferred. Qualified candidates will have up to 5 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree in math/actuarial science/economics/computer science/data science, and knowledge of Excel/SQL/R.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; actuarial exams preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of financial concepts, spreadsheets, and database software.
• 0-5 years’ work experience in a related role.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, summarize and analyze financial and healthcare data.
• Build actuarial models to support multiple lines of business and financial projections.
• Support analysis around quality improvement, forecasting, population health, ROI analyses, and ad hoc requests.
• Incorporate data visualization tools to present findings clearly.
