Job summary

Kaplan is hiring ACT instructors willing to commute to Aurora, IL to deliver innovative interventions and prep programs that help students advance their education to realize their potential.

The role involves teaching ACT prep with a curated curriculum, collaborating with stakeholders, and supporting students in and out of class. This is a part-time, remote-friendly position with flexible hours and remote training from Kaplan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Minimum ten-month commitment to the role.
• Daytime, weekday availability August through January.
• Minimum of 15 hours per week.
• Scores within the 90th percentile of the ACT.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to work independently with a remote manager.
• Strive to help others achieve their goals.
• Respond to quickly changing needs with agility and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver ACT prep and educational content tailored to student needs.
• Prepare students for exams using teaching methods and a curated curriculum to immerse them in ACT language.
• Support students both in and out of class, enabling problem solving with critical thinking and logic.
• Use data to close the opportunity gap for underrepresented students.
• Continue to learn via professional training, coaching, and development.
• Maintain a part-time teaching schedule while pursuing other professional interests.
