Job summary

The Mortgage Law Firm is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to assist the CFO and Director of Accounting in running the accounting department. You will lead a team of staff accountants, oversee the month-end close, and ensure timely, accurate reporting.

Responsibilities include developing close processes, preparing monthly and quarterly reports, addressing staff inquiries, and guiding professional growth. A CPA is a plus for this role, with strong analytical and leadership skills valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a minimum of 7 years’ accounting experience and/or training; a minimum of 2 years of directly managing a team. CPA designation a plus.
• Computer skills: Highly proficient with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting software (Sage Intacct experience a plus)

Responsibilities

• Oversee the month-end close cycle, coordinating journal entry preparation, review and sign-off within established close-day targets to keep reporting on schedule.
• Manage a team of staff accountants and accounting specialists, setting performance expectations, conducting reviews, and providing coaching that closes skill gaps and supports professional growth.
• Respond to inquiries of staff regarding financial procedures for the purpose of providing information, direction and/or referral for addressing inquiry.
• Develop processes and procedures for monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports to management.
• Ad Hoc analyses as needed.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.
