Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Accounting Manager, Prime Financing, to own end-to-end accounting for prime financing and brokerage, reporting to the Assistant Controller, Prime Brokerage and Digital Assets, and building controls from the ground up.

You will lead a team through monthly close, quarterly reporting, and audits, and partner with cross-functional teams on SEC regulations and lending practices to translate requirements into actionable accounting guidance.

Qualifications

• CPA designation and 9+ years of progressive accounting experience, including fintech or financial services
• Experience with financing, lending, or prime brokerage accounting at a public company and SEC reporting familiarity
• Proven ability to build accounting processes and internal controls from scratch, including SOPs and automation that improve close timelines
• Experience leading a team through monthly close, quarterly reporting, and annual audits to meet deadlines
• Proficiency with NetSuite, FloQast, and Google Suite to streamline close and reporting workflows
• Ability to use generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency and quality

Responsibilities

• Own review and approval of monthly financing accounting entries, reconciliations, and supporting docs
• Design scalable automated processes and controls for prime financing, draft SOPs for SOX compliance
• Lead the monthly close, quarterly reporting, and annual audit cycles to ensure audit-readiness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate regulatory developments into accounting guidance
• Drive new controls and process improvements for platform and brokerage accounting as the business grows
