Job summary

WAHVE is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for remote work to support Property & Casualty carrier clients. The role emphasizes leveraging extensive insurance accounting knowledge to manage premium, claims, reinsurance, and general ledger tasks from home.

The position focuses on month-end close, regulatory reporting, and collaboration with internal teams and external partners, with full- or part-time schedules available in a long-term remote setup.

Qualifications

• 25 years of full-time work experience.
• 10 most current years of Property & Casualty (P&C) carrier accounting operations experience with GAAP & STAT reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day financial accounting activities for P&C carrier clients, including premium, claims, reinsurance, and general ledger accounting.
• Perform month-end close activities with reconciliations, journal entries and financial statement prep per GAAP and STAT (Schedule P and Schedule F).
• Coordinate regulatory reporting and ensure timely, complete submissions.
• Direct reinsurance financial administration including cash settlements and communications with partners.
• Evaluate accounting workflows and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Assist during audits and regulatory reviews with supporting materials and controls.
