Jefferson Wells is seeking accounting professionals for contract/consulting roles. Most projects are remote, with some hybrid and local work in the metro Philadelphia market.

W2 hourly compensation ranges from $50 to $85 per hour, based on experience and client requirements. Responsibilities include month-end close, financial record maintenance, reporting, audits, budgeting, and liaison with tax accountants.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with accounting software/ERP systems (SAP and NetSuite preferred)
• Advanced MS Excel knowledge (formulas, VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Organize and update financial records as needed.
• Analyze transactions and prepare reports.
• Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments.
• Forecast revenue and analyze profit margins.
• Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable.
• Participate in budgeting processes.
• Brief senior managers regularly on the company’s financial status.
• Liaise with Tax Accountants to track tax payments and returns.
