Job summary

Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education seeks an Accountant 5 to lead loan accounting for the Alaska Student Loan Corporation and ACPE. The role includes supervising staff, managing GL and subsidiary ledgers, and ensuring accurate reporting across multiple funds and bank accounts.

You’ll coordinate disclosures, oversee loan-related schedules, and support internal controls while partnering with the loan servicer and DOA systems.

Qualifications

• Accounting theory and internal controls knowledge required.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating workloads.
• Ability to prepare concise financial reports and statements.
• Familiarity with financial systems and grant/fund accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee education loan payments and related disbursements and refunds in the general ledger.
• Coordinate loan-related disclosures and workpapers for ASLC financial statements.
• Serve as finance liaison for loan servicer and oversee related processes.
• Develop and maintain controls and procedures for loan accounting across multiple funds.
