Job summary

AbbVie in the United States seeks a remote Virtual Access Specialist to educate and address Health Care Provider questions about patient access and reimbursement. This non-clinical role targets HCP offices within the assigned geography to improve access and navigation through payer processes and program eligibility.

Responsibilities include educating providers on access programs, staying current with payer requirements, and building relationships with field teams to ensure seamless Rx status

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in account management, payer account management, and/or access and reimbursement.
• Understanding of payer policy processes, published criteria and documentation for coverage, coding, prior authorization, and appeal processes.
• Knowledge of commercial and governmental payer access dynamics.
• Ability to navigate cross-matrix environments with clear, concise communication.

Responsibilities

• Educate HCPs on patient support programs and AbbVie tools.
• Be a subject matter expert on local, regional, and national payer policies.
• Develop and sustain relationships with providers within the territory.
• Coordinate with FRMs, HCPs, and stakeholders to update Rx status and eligibility.
• Incorporate approved resources to support HCP education initiatives and patient experience.
• Identify and report payer trends to Patient Services and market access teams.
• Take ownership of process improvements to enhance system efficiency and patient access.
