Job summary

The Center for Academic Success and Transition ( CAST ) is seeking a passionate, student-centered professional to serve as an Academic Success Coach.

This 20-hour, 10-month position is primarily responsible for providing one-to-one academic coaching (in person and via Zoom) that helps undergraduate students develop the skills, strategies, and confidence needed to thrive at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 2+ years of related professional experience.
• Experience coaching or advising students to promote academic success and persistence.
• Knowledge of evidence-based student success strategies (time management, study skills, motivation, goal setting).
• Proficiency with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, presentations, and student management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one academic success coaching (in person or via Zoom) to undergraduate students.
• Develop skills, strategies, and confidence to thrive academically and personally.
• Conduct proactive outreach and manage assigned student caseloads.
• Deliver presentations and workshops on academic success and related topics.
• Collaborate with CAST and university staff to connect students with campus resources.
