Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s Optum is hiring an Applied Behavior Analysis Practice Management Specialist. The role supports ABA providers, oversees outcomes, and ensures compliant billing within a remote, nationwide framework.

The position requires a licensed Master’s level clinician (or PhD), BCBA certification where applicable, and 3+ years in Managed Care with CPT/HCPCS experience. Strong analytics and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Master's level clinician in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage/Family Counseling.
• Independent, active and unrestricted licenses.
• Board certification as a Behavior Analyst and state licensure where required.
• 3+ years of Managed Care and/or Utilization Review experience.
• 3+ years of CPT/HCPCS coding experience.
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Engage with senior leaders at ABA facilities/providers.
• Initiate interventions to enhance outcomes, improve care quality and ensure appropriate billing.
• Support high-performing ABA providers to maintain performance.
• Identify outliers via analysis of outcomes and utilization data.
• Audit ABA programs and provide feedback on results.
• Measure improvements in program performance over time.
• Adjust interventions to optimize outcomes.
• Implement and monitor Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
• Support ABA onsite team with data analysis, interviews, and reports.
• Collaborate with Care Advocacy Operations, Network Management and other departments.
