Job summary

CI Games Group is seeking a Freelance 2D UI Artist to craft game icons, maintain visual cohesion, and support UI integration in Unreal Engine 5. You’ll work closely with UX designers and the UI Lead, iterating through playtests to improve icon clarity and readability.

The role runs for 4 months on a remote basis with flexible scheduling and core hours 10am-4pm CET, offering a global collaboration environment and access to cutting-edge game UI workflows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience as a 2D artist or UI artist.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Affinity, Procreate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of sprite sheets, UI optimization, texture compression, and engine implementation (Unreal Engine preferred).
• Strong portfolio showing rendering fundamentals, color theory, and readability at small UI sizes.

Responsibilities

• Design and render high-quality game icons including items, weapons, abilities, and resources.
• Take assets from rough sketches to final polished art.
• Export and optimize 2D assets for engine use and Unreal Engine 5 integration.
• Match and maintain established art guidelines and color palettes to ensure cohesion.
• Collaborate with UX designers, game designers and UI Lead; iterate based on playtesting data.
