Job summary

In Charge Electric is hiring a Remodel Estimator in HQ for our Estimating division. You will perform full takeoffs, evaluate plans, and prepare accurate proposals for electrical remodel projects with vendors and GC input.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in electrical residential construction, knowledge of NEC, and strong written and verbal communication. This role offers top-tier pay and growth in a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in electrical residential construction.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Electrical Journeyman or Wireman license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform full take off by scraping plans, counting fixtures and electrical equipment and entering information into the estimating system.
• Evaluate plans and pictures to construct accurate proposals for electrical remodels.
• Send quotes to vendors and enter pricing into estimating system.
• Assist in scoping and checking bids for completeness.
• Assist in creating proposals for General Contractors.
• Explain deviations from drawings to General Contractors and answer questions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full take off by scraping plans, counting fixtures and electrical equipment and entering information into the estimating system
• A basic understanding of electrical remodel work and the ability evaluate plans and pictures to construct an accurate proposal
• Send quotes out to vendors
• Enter and price quotes from vendors into estimating system
• Assist in scoping (checking bids for completeness)
• Assist in creating proposals for General Contractors
• Come up with qualifications based off the drawings they scrapes
• Explain deviations from drawings to General Contractor
• Answer general questions from the contractor about their estimate
• Maintain open communication lines with all working relationships
• Earn and maintain customer’s trust

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Knowledge of Electrical construction
• Knowledge of National Electric Code
• Effective written and oral communication
• Tracking numbers and bits of data relevant to the work assignment
• Willing to undergo a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen
• High school diploma or the equivalent Electrical Journeyman or Wireman’s license preferred
• 3+ years of experience in electrical residential construction preferred
