Job summary

Commerce Bank is seeking a Remittance Processor III to support Lockbox Remittance Processing services in Kansas City. The role includes fast, accurate processing of payments and correspondence, with a 3:30 PM–Midnight second shift and a shift differential.

You will perform quality checks, data entry, and HP/PCI-compliant handling of PHI and card payments. Requires a high school diploma and 2+ years in payment processing, plus strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of payment processing or related experience in a production environment.
• Ability to learn department systems and follow guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality checks on outbound mail and troubleshoot or escalate issues.
• Operate scanning equipment and meet document processing deadlines.
• Process credit card payments, labeled work, and respond to emails per procedures.
• Enter data for scanned images and validate fields across accounts.
• Handle PHI processing in compliance with HIPAA and PCI standards.
• Cross-train and assist in other department areas as needed.

Compensation Range

Hourly: $19.50 - $19.50 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to support Lockbox Remittance Processing services. This includes providing expedited collection and processing of different types of payments and correspondence for our customers and electronic documentation.

Work Schedule

• 3:30 PM - Midnight (2nd shift)
• All 2nd shift employees are eligible for a shift differential

Essential Functions

• Perform quality checks on outbound mail and conduct basic troubleshooting and escalation of system/department issues Operate and maintain high or low speed scanning equipment for duration of shift, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
• Monitor systems and make workflow decisions driven by customer deposit, scanning, data entry, and transmission deadlines to meet deadlines and maintain service level agreements
• Apply customer rules to perform desk related duties including credit card processing, pulling rejected work, labeling processed work and, responding to emails
• Meet department production and quality goals by processing multiple accounts with accuracy and in compliance with processing procedures
• Complete data entry item processing for scanned images, manual keying, and field validation of multiple accounts according to processing procedures
• Process Protected Health Information (PHI) and card payments in compliance with HIPAA, Payment Card Industry (PCI) security standards, and all other applicable policies and regulations
• Cross-train and deliver results in other areas of the department as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• 2+ years of payment processing or related experience in production environment
