Job summary

Northwest Community Action Center in Toppenish, WA is seeking a Relief Youth Development Specialist to support after-school programs at Roosevelt Elementary School. You’ll collaborate with the 21st Century Teacher and Site Supervisor to deliver activities aimed at improving Reading and Mathematics, align lesson plans with standards, and maintain attendance and achievement records.

This part-time role requires flexibility for evenings and weekends; bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Teaching preferred.
• First Aid and CPR Certification within 30 days of hire (required or with training).
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; not eligible for bilingual differential pay.

Responsibilities

• Works with the 21st Century Teacher and Site Supervisor to create and deliver activities to increase student achievement in Reading and Mathematics.
• Prepares activity sheets and lesson plans with measurable objectives aligned to CCSS or NS standards.
• Compiles and maintains documentation for attendance, achievement, discipline and demographics.
• Monitors and reports on academic and behavioral impact of activities.
• Collaborates to maintain a positive classroom environment and adhere to state laws and district policies.
• Completes monthly/annual documentation for program evaluation.
• Participates in staff development, trainings, and meetings.
• Assists in creating and distributing media such as brochures and social media.
