BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Relief Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department in Summerville, SC. The pay ranges from $25.00 to $40.50 per hour, starting point based on experience and advancement through our leveling system.

As a Relief Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will induce, monitor and recover anesthesia, triage emergencies, perform radiography, monitor vitals, and assist with complex procedures while mentoring teammates and addressing

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician in emergency/ICU settings.
• Proficient in venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Ability to monitor anesthesia and vital signs.
• Compassionate client and patient care.

Responsabilités

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia and use anesthesia equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique.
• Understand normal vital sign ranges and alert veterinarians as needed.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vitals.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Perform medical calculations and administer medications as prescribed.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central lines.
• Mentor and train co-workers.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Relief Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.50 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our leveling system

As a Relief Emergency Veterinary Technician, You Will

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
