Job summary

J.M. Huber Corporation in Quincy, IL seeks a Relief Roller Mill Operator to cover vacations and other gaps, reporting to the Production Supervisor. The role oversees seven mill units (2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9 and 10) and ensures production aligns with DP409001 guidelines.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 3–5 years of operator experience, and strong safety and communication skills. Shifts are Monday–Friday, with hours varying by staffing needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 3–5 years operator experience preferred.
• Willing and able to work and act safely (laboratory and plant practices).
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations that include multiplication, addition, and percentages – calculator may be used.
• Must have good overall communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization.
• CDL license preferred.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow safety policy manuals, MSHA regulations, SOPs, SDS, and various production schedules/reports.

Responsibilities

• Performs the duties of various production positions to fill-in for absences.
• Operates seven mill units (2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9 and 10).
• Inspects mill areas for unsafe conditions daily.
• Operates mills in a safe and efficient manner.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
• Produces and loads materials as per daily orders.
• Obtains in-process, final product, or load out samples as required.
• Inspects trucks and rail cars before loading.
• Completes required daily operation reports.
