International Paper in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily corrugated board production, training staff, planning and directing work across shifts while promoting safety, quality and teamwork.

The role requires strong leadership and communication, with at least two years of supervisory experience; high school diploma or GED is required. Full-time, on-site, with a comprehensive benefits package and annual incentive eligibility.

  • Prior experience in the corrugated packaging industry preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills are required.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must be willing to work all three shifts and some weekends as needed to cover other supervisor’s vacations and absences.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise employees in the daily production of corrugated board, including training, planning, assigning and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; promoting safety, quality production and teamwork; resolving conflicts.
  • Lead and motivate employees by setting an example of superior behavior, attitude and performance to work efficiently and effectively, while ensuring a safe work environment and a quality product.
  • Effectively communicate operational information in oral and written format at all levels: crew members, supervisors, plant management, office personnel and outside customers and vendors.
  • Actively promote and ensure compliance with safety, quality and other programs and initiatives used within the organization.
  • Perform individual, team and small group training on specified subjects; complete related training documentation.

Pay Rate: $69,500 - $92,600 (USCORE)

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.

Category/Shift: Salaried Full-Time / Floating Shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts and some weekends)

The Job You Will Perform
  • Supervise employees in the daily production of corrugated board, to include training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; promoting safety, quality production and teamwork; resolving conflicts.
  • Lead and motivate employees by setting an example of superior behavior, attitude and performance to work efficiently and effectively, while ensuring a safe work environment, and a quality product.
  • Effectively communicate operational information in both oral and written format at all levels: crew members, other supervisors, plant management, office personnel and outside customers and vendors.
  • Actively promote and ensure compliance with safety, quality and other programs and initiatives utilized within the organization.
  • Perform individual, team, and small group training on specific subjects selected by the Site Manager or PIM. Topics include but are not limited to safety, machine set up, QMS, machine operation, and PIT operation. Complete related training documentation.
