Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking Licensed Veterinary Technicians to support our inpatient overnight team. Shifts run Tuesday through Friday, 7p-8a, with compensation $26.00 - $33.00 per hour plus a shift differential. VTS credentialing may qualify for commensurate compensation.

You will induce, monitor and recover anesthesia, triage emergencies, perform radiography, monitor vitals, and collaborate with veterinarians to provide exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician credentialing.
• Experience with anesthesia and patient monitoring is preferred.
• Ability to triage emergency cases and monitor vitals.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Calculate medical doses and administer medications.
• Place feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train other co-workers.
• Address client concerns with empathy.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring Licensed Veterinary Technicians to help provide relief support to our inpatient overnight team.

Schedule:

Our available overnight shifts are Tuesday through Friday, 7p-8a.

Pay:

$26.00 - $33.00 / hour + a competitive shift differential for the entire shift!

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system.

** Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience**

As a Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.

• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
