Job summary

Virginia's Community College System seeks a part-time Relief Licensed Veterinary Technician to support the veterinary technology department and animal hospital operations. The role will assist instructors, supervise students, and ensure proper care for animals on the relief basis during the semester.

Requirements include Virginia licensure as a Veterinary Technician and clinical experience, with a focus on lab setup, patient care, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructors with on-campus, on-line, and field trip lab set-up and break-down.
• Assist in supervising students with their lab skills during labs and patient care shifts.
• Provide husbandry and nursing care to animals.
• Maintain facility equipment and keep lab rooms orderly.
• Maintain medical records for animals.
• Assist with admitting and discharging shelter patients.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA, VCCS, AVMA, USDA, DEA, and VA Board of Veterinary Medicine
• Assist with any other duties as assigned
