Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is hiring a Laboratory Technician at the St. Paul Park refinery to perform feedstock and product testing and data reporting. The role requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry or equivalent and experience with instrumental analysis, following industry QA/QC protocols.

You will work a 12-hour rotating schedule including days and nights, with overtime as needed. The company offers a robust benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or science is required, with four chemistry courses and two labs completed before start date.
• Strong analytical chemistry skills with emphasis on modern instrumental analysis (GC, UV/Vis, NIR, IC, DSR).
• Experience with wet chemistry and following ASTM/AASHTO/EPA/UOP procedures.

Responsibilities

• Test refining feedstock and intermediates to support daily refinery operations.
• Perform finished product testing to ensure industry standard compliance.
• Interpret data and prepare reports for QA/QC processes.
