Job summary

Socomi is seeking a Maintenance Boiler Operator in Brookings, OR. The role involves operating and maintaining boiler systems, ensuring safety, and managing fuel supply over 12-hour day shifts with a six-day work week and a weekday off.

You will monitor boiler parameters, log operations, and perform routine minor repairs, with overtime possible during nights, weekends, and holidays. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the position offers stability and growth within an industrial setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor boiler parameters via computer systems and adjust as required.
• Work overtime including nights, weekends, and holidays when required.

Report to: Maintenance Superintendent

Qualifications, Requirements, & Responsibilities:

• Strong commitment to safety and following safe work practices.
• Must be able to learn and apply knowledge of boilers, fuel systems, steam, and basic power plant operations.
• Perform operational troubleshooting and routine minor repairs on boiler-related equipment to include lubrication and oil level checks.
• Accurately maintain appropriate documentation of boiler logs.
• Clean out grates, ash bins, and hoppers on a consistent schedule to prevent excess build-up within the boiler system.
• Monitor and adjust boiler parameters through the computer system.
• Repetitive handling of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Operate the loader to supply fuel to the boiler.
• Maintain facility cleanliness from the fuel shed to the boiler.
• Perform other necessary duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Must be able to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays, when required.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to work in extreme temperatures, dusty and noisy conditions, heights, and confined spaces.
• Comfortable lifting 2-50 lbs regularly, climbing ladders, and standing for extending periods during 12-hour shifts.
