Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain optimal boiler combustion for efficiency and reliability.
  • Operate stokers, burners, or pulverized coal systems.
  • Read boiler gauges and control panels and adjust controls as needed.
  • Regulate fuel feed systems for consistent supply.
  • Inspect and test fuel systems, burners, and related equipment.
  • Clean and maintain boiler components and ash pits.
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of boiler systems.
  • Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents.
  • Keep records of boiler operations, fuel usage, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Boiler Operators and maintenance staff for smooth operation.

Job description

Salary: $25-$40 per hour depending on License type, experience and location with a sign on bonus

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain optimal fuel combustion in boiler systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
  • Operate and control various equipment, including stokers, burners, or pulverized coal systems, to achieve proper fuel combustion.
  • Monitor boiler gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure proper functioning and adjust controls as needed to maintain desired boiler performance.
  • Monitor and regulate fuel feed systems, ensuring an adequate and consistent fuel supply.
  • Perform routine inspections and tests on fuel systems, burners, and related equipment to identify and resolve any malfunctions or abnormalities.
  • Clean and maintain boiler components, including removing ashes, clinkers, and debris from fireboxes, hoppers, and ash pits.
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of boiler systems, including replacing or repairing worn or damaged parts as needed.
  • Follow established safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, including fire hazards.
  • Keep accurate records of boiler operations, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with other team members, such as Boiler Operators and maintenance staff, to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of the boiler system.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of boiler operations, fire safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and processes.
  • Wastewater license and experience
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical/vocational school training and experience working with industrial boilers.
  • 2nd fireman, 1st fireman, 3rd engineer License Required.
  • Wastewater license and experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in a demanding environment (including standing, climbing, and lifting heavy objects, up to 35 lbs at a time).
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
