Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Registration as a Surgical Technologist if assisting a Dentist in the operating room.
• Registered Dental Assistant or EFDA certification.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred (ALTA score of 10).
• Basic knowledge of medical/dental terminology and dental anatomy.
• Basic knowledge of dental materials and instruments.
• Basic infection control techniques.
• Ability to perform four-handed dental assisting.
• Strong manual dexterity and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient medical records and update medical history and vital signs.
• Conduct complete patient X-ray procedures (panoramic, cephalometric) and store images in the EDR.
• Set up and record periodontal charting as instructed by the Provider.
• Prepare and arrange instruments and equipment for patient exams.
• Mix materials with infection control in mind and prevent cross‑contamination.
• Provide preventive periodontal care (polish, fluoride, sealants).
• Assist with nitrous oxide analgesia under Provider supervision.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and care.
• Support infection control program and sterilization processes.
• Assist in orthodontics including records and models.
