The Opportunity

Parker School is a vibrant learning community of 350 K-12 students nurtured by engaged educators and families in the community of Waimea on magnificent Hawaiʻi Island.

Parker School seeks an on-call custodian to provide maintenance, care and cleaning of our school facilities when a regular custodian is unable to work or additional support is needed. Duties include cleaning floors, walls, doors, restrooms, locker rooms, walkways, entrances and furniture of classrooms, offices and common areas. This position may also perform deep cleaning and special maintenance duties during extended school breaks, as delegated by the Maintenance Director.

Qualifications and Skills

Successful applicants will possess the following requirements:

• Proven experience as custodian, janitor or a similar role
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness
• Be able to work an on-call shift of 10:00am–6:30pm or similar, typically on weekdays

Compensation Rate: $19.00-$21.25 per hour

Parker is deeply rooted in the rural community of Waimea (mailing address Kamuela) on magnificent Hawaiʻi Island.
