Job summary

St. John’s United is seeking a Chaplain—Temporary Relief to join the spiritual care team serving residents. The chaplain will provide worship leadership and emotional support across assigned areas and participate in campus-wide services.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in divinity, theology, or religious studies, and be comfortable collaborating with staff, residents, and volunteers while maintaining on-campus coverage and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or master's degree in divinity, theology, religious studies, or a related field.
• Ability to work with staff, residents, visitors, and volunteers.
• Basic computer abilities (Word, Outlook, etc).
• Ability to text.
• Function in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide living opportunities within nurturing environments of hope, dignity and love.
• Lead religious services and events in assigned areas (may include coordination).
• Offer emotional and spiritual support to elders and families.
• Lead worship services and a weekly communion as assigned.
• Coordinate vigils for dying elders when requested or determined by staff and chaplain dialogue.
• Provide support to staff and serve as a resource to the care team.
