Job summary

St. John’s United seeks a Chaplain for temporary relief to join the Spiritual Care department. The role focuses on providing worship leadership, pastoral support, and spiritual guidance across campus areas, collaborating with care teams and families.

The Chaplain will coordinate religious services, offer comfort to elders and relatives, participate in memorials and vigils, and engage in ongoing department activities to support residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in divinity, theology, religious studies, or a related field.
• Ability to work with staff, residents, visitors, and volunteers.
• Basic computer abilities (Word, Outlook, etc).
• Ability to text and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide worship leadership and religious services within assigned areas.
• Offer emotional and spiritual support to elders and families.
• Coordinate vigils for dying elders and memorial services as requested.
• Participate in campus events, meetings, and teamwork with care staff.
