Job summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking a part-time Spiritual Care Chaplain to respond to patients, families and staff needs in consultation with the Director of Spiritual Care Services. You will perform spiritual assessments, provide interventions, and coordinate care to support patients on designated units.

Responsibilities include interfaith pastoral care, advance care planning assistance, and offering sacraments when appropriate, with relief shifts and ACPE education as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to minister to patients with varying physical and mental needs.
• Ability to adapt communication to the receiver's level of understanding.
• Ability to lead and influence others and maintain professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provides interfaith spiritual assessment and intervention for patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Coordinates care with multi-disciplinary teams for designated patient units and groups.
• Assists patients with completion of advance care planning documents when requested.
• Performs special pastoral/spiritual services (baptisms, memorials, etc) as appropriate.
• Coordinates care with staff chaplains, CPE students and volunteers.
• Available to serve at least two relief shifts per month.
• Provide up to fifteen hours per week of spiritual care on a designated hospital unit.
• Provide Sacraments to Roman Catholic patients when needed.
