Job summary

Lynx EMS in Indianapolis seeks dependable Wheelchair Van Drivers to provide safe, reliable transportation for patients to medical appointments and facilities. You will interact with patients, families, and dispatch while delivering professional, compassionate service and maintaining strict safety and HIPAA compliance on every ride.

You will operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles, assist patients in entering and exiting, secure mobility devices, document trips, and uphold punctual schedules

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to assist patients with mobility needs using proper body mechanics and safety techniques.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable attitude.
• Professional appearance and conduct.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently while following procedures and schedules.
• Comfortable assisting individuals with mobility limitations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible van during assigned daytime routes.
• Transport patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, dialysis centers, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare locations.
• Assist patients with entering and exiting the vehicle using proper safety procedures and body mechanics.
• Properly secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices before transportation.
• Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to patients and their families.
• Maintain punctuality and effective time management throughout assigned routes.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety and operational readiness.
• Keep the vehicle clean, sanitized, organized, and well-maintained.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and healthcare facilities regarding arrival times, delays, changes, or special transportation needs.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures, HIPAA requirements, company policies, and traffic laws.
• Complete required transportation and trip documentation accurately.
