Forsyth R-III School District is hiring a part-time substitute custodian to support daytime or evening shifts. This role offers $15 per hour and an open posting for 1 vacancy. Applicants must have citizenship, residency or a valid work visa to be considered.

You will prepare classrooms and common areas by cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting and restocking supplies. The job requires physical fitness, attention to detail and the ability to operate cleaning equipment safely.

Qualifications

• Experience as custodian, janitor, or similar role.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and appliances.
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
• Excellent physical condition and strength.

• Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap)
• Wipe mirrors and windows
• Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.)

Skills

• Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness
• Very good physical condition and strength
